I’ve been struggling with what God is calling me to do for quite some time now. Ever since I graduated high school I have wanted to do about 10 different things. Finally God has given me the picture and I am ready to move on with my part of “The Plan.” What is God calling you to do?
The Bible tells us in Matthew 28:19-20 (and I paraphrase) that we are to go and make disciples of all nations in the name of the trinity and teach them to obey everything Jesus has commanded.
That is “The Great Commission.” I give you that free without making you read “The Purpose Driven Life.” It is God’s Big Picture. But if that is the Big Picture, where do you fit in? A couple of ideas come to mind for helping you find out what God has in store for you.
1) Pray and Ask – If your heart truly desires to know God’s plan for you and you are ready for it, God will show it to you. Ask God for your part and have others pray for/with you.
2) Grow – Grow spiritually by reading God’s word and praying (talking to God).
3) Interests – What are you interests? What are your talents? What has God blessed you with the ability to do? Exploit them for God’s kingdom!
4) Train – Once you have an idea of God’s plan then find someone who can train you. Likely, it will be someone who is in that field. Ask them to pray for you that God will give them confirmation of his plan for you.
good advice Jake. Keep listening to Him.
